As with all other sectors, the hospitality sector is subject to EU rules which strive to ensure free competition within the Internal Market (rules against agreements which restrict competition, abuses of dominant position and on controlling mergers and concentrations). Of special interest to our industry are the “block exemptions” on vertical agreements such as:
- franchising contracts ;
- beer supply contracts ;
and horizontal cooperation agreements.
